Frame Tent Hire

Built on a self-supporting aluminium frame, which buys two things nothing else does: a completely clear span with no centre poles in your floor plan, and no dependence on pegs, so it goes up on paving, concrete and driveways. Sectional construction means the length is adjustable on site as your numbers move.

The structure that goes where pegs can't

A frame tent is built on a self-supporting aluminium frame. Two consequences follow, and they are the only two reasons to choose one.

It needs no interior poles — the span is completely clear, so a long table or a stage can sit anywhere. And it does not depend on pegs, so it can be erected on paving, concrete, a driveway or a courtyard where nothing can be driven into the ground.

Frame tent size and price guide

The most-searched thing in this category is a straight price list by size, so here it is as typical Cape Town market ranges.

SizeFloor areaSeatedTypical market rate
6m × 3.4m20 m²~20R1,500 – R1,800
6m × 6.8m41 m²~40R1,900 – R2,400
6m × 12m72 m²~70R3,000 – R4,000
10m × 15m150 m²~120R5,500 – R6,600

Every rate above covers delivery, erection, ballasting and the strike afterwards anywhere inside the 60km working radius. These are market ranges for budgeting, not our quote — see prices for the full explanation.

Sectional frame tents

Frame tents are built in sections, which means the length is adjustable on site. A 6m-wide tent can run 3.4m, 6.8m, 10.2m and onward in the same bay increments — useful when your guest count is still moving in the last fortnight.

Clear-span, glass-panel and aluminium frames

A clear tent hire — glass or transparent walls in an aluminium frame — is the same structure as the frame tents above with the sidewalls swapped. The frame is aluminium in every case, which is what lets it span without a centre pole. Transparent panels roughly double the rate and are worth it for an evening event with a view; for a daytime marquee they mostly add heat.

On open ground that takes a peg, peg-and-pole tent hire covers the same crowd for less, with centre poles in the floor plan.

Frame tent questions

Do you have clear or glass frame tents for rent?

Yes. Clear-panel frame tent rental is quoted per event because the panels are hired in, and it runs roughly double the solid-wall rate for the same footprint.

Can a frame tent be put up on a driveway?

Yes. That is its main advantage — it is ballasted with weights rather than pegged, so no surface is damaged.

Are frame tents fully waterproof?

Yes, roof and walls, and the frame lets water run off cleanly to the edges.

Which is stronger in wind, a frame tent or a stretch tent?

A properly ballasted frame tent is the more rigid structure. A stretch tent handles gusts by flexing. On a very exposed Cape site we would talk through the specific spot with you before recommending either.
